Fees
At Cook Noell Tolley & Bates LLP, you will find lawyers ready to openly discuss legal costs with you and answer any questions you may have about fees and billing.
Please contact our office to determine which of the following four widely-accepted methods of payment is most appropriate to your case:
A flat fee is an amount agreed upon in advance by attorney and client. Flat fees are generally used for specific, straightforward and relatively simple legal work.
Hourly fees are charged in more complex cases where it is impossible to determine at the outset how much time the lawyer will spend on the case.
Contingency fees are charged in cases where the plaintiff is seeking a monetary award from the defendant. Your fee is a percentage of the award.
In some cases, such as real estate closings, fees are based on a specific percentage of the sale price.
